What can go wrong with using an HR consultant?

Our team at The HR Consultants is extremely experienced in dealing with a wide breadth of people and employment law issues, and they work hard to ensure our customers receive the advice and support needed. However, we’re all human and so it’s only normal that from time to time things don’t always go exactly to plan and as we’re an open and honest bunch, it seems only right we share these with you, so you know exactly whether we’re the right kind of consultancy you’d like to partner with.

Service

We are hugely committed to giving a brilliant service to our customers and part of how we do this is through the service level agreements that we have in place with all our clients; whether that’s for HR administration, HR and employment law advice, or for handling an HR project, we always have SLAs agreed with you.

Our SLAs are in place so you know exactly what to expect from our team of consultants and they all work hard to ensure these are met.

Unfortunately on very rare occasions, something may fall through the cracks – we have very robust processes and systems to prevent this from happening, but we’re all adults, so we know we won’t be perfect 100% of the time, as much as that pains me to say!

However if something doesn’t meet the high standards we commit to delivering for our customers, we give full permission for you to tell us. In fact we’re so committed to delivery brilliant service that we hold bi-monthly check-in calls with our customers and a senior member of our team to invite full honest feedback, to ensure we’re meeting our commitments and if there are any issues at all, to fix them, quickly.

Not a good fit

Our team is made up of exceptional HR experts, who are specialists in their field. We recruit to very robust experience criteria and fit with our company values, so we believe we have a great team (and feedback from our customers also confirms this).

When we start working with a new customer, we spend time getting to know you to determine which member of our team would be the best fit for you and your organisation, both in terms of expertise and style of working.

The vast majority of the time, we get this right and receive very nice feedback about the relationships built between consultants and their clients, however we wouldn’t be being honest if we said we got it right all the time.

One of the benefits of working with us, is that we have a great team, so if for whatever reason the fit isn’t quite right with your lead consultant, we’ll use your feedback to determine who within our team is a better fit for you.

If we can’t make it work and the overall fit with us just isn’t right, then we absolutely won’t flog a dead horse! We don’t tie customers into lengthy contracts, so if it’s not working, we’ll be grown up about it and agree how to part ways as swiftly as we can for all parties. We’ll even do our best to recommend another consultant in the market who might be a better fit for you.

Your company grows

As time goes on, with our support, your business will grow. Yippee! That’s what working with us is all about after all.

But as you grow, there will no doubt come a point when the size of your headcount means having an in-house HR expert is a better fit for your company and that is just the kind of success story we love.

When this happens, we’ll work through with you the right kind of resource and the various options out there (the level of expertise needed for you, part time, full time, etc); we’ll support with hiring the very best person and then we’ll work with them and you to carry out a thorough handover. A match made in heaven!

Ultimately, if things aren’t going the way you’d like with our support, you simply need to talk to us and we’ll work out the best way forward with you. We really are a very friendly and reasonable bunch, so let’s have a chat.

If you have any specific questions or concerns that aren’t covered in our FAQs, feel free to get in touch so we can talk them through enquiries@thehrconsultants.co.uk
