Our physical spaces are designed to be all things to all people – coffee house, pub, art gallery, roadside diner, clothing boutique – but beyond all that, simply a place to go, a thing to experience, a community to become part of.

Caffeine&Machine has successfully operated The Hill since 2018, and are planning to open new locations in 2023. As a result we are seeking to appoint new General Managers to lead the opening of our new sites.

We are seeking experienced General Managers with a track record in leading large format food and beverage operations, functions and events; we need passionate, driven and ambitious leaders to continue our mission. 

The General Manager is a pivotal role in our success; they will have overall accountability for their site and set the tone for the customer experience, service standards and operational excellence of the Caffeine&Machine experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the daily operation of the site through the implementation of the overall business strategy; exceeding customer experience KPIs and ensuring key business objectives are met in a timely manner. 
  • You will be an ambassador for Caffeine&Machine and be passionate about a great experience for all.  
  • You will lead, coach and develop the team to have fulfilling roles and careers within the organisation. 
  • You will be responsible for the site P&L, which includes food & beverage, accommodation, emporium, events and functions.


Desired attributes and experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar General Manager role within a large volume food and beverage operation.
  • You will be an established leader, who drives results through people with energy, passion and enthusiasm.
  • Confidence with managing a complex P&L.
  • A leader who confidently navigates ambiguity with resilience and positivity.
